Own Your Glam

01. challenge

What started as a passion-project grew into an actual business. Own Your Glam was born as a beauty and fashion blog where I shared video tutorials, beauty advice, and just wrote because it made me happy. A few years later, I launched my business as a makeup artist and assembled a team of hair stylists and makeup artists to provide a luxury experience in the bridal industry. I needed a website to showcase our services and a space to continue blogging:

02. approach

I set out to analyze and compare the existing websites for similar businesses in Miami. I noticed a lot of them were difficult to navigate, were outdated, and did not list their services. Also, the artists didn't mention much about themselves. I found this problematic because makeup services are quite intimate. As a beauty expert, I understood the importance of making the client feel at ease, especially in the bridal industry where emotions often run high.

03. solution

Having previous experience with Word Press, I rolled up my sleeves and set out to find a user-friendly way to create my own website. I found Wix! Armed with a logo from my previous beauty blog and YouTube channel, and a clear vision for this project, I arrived at a clean and modern aesthetic, an elegant yet upbeat voice, and an easy-to-navigate website.

04. impact

Bridal inquiries increased 5X in the first month of launching the website. Business doubled, then tripled, and I finally hit my goal of booking weddings of 15+ services. I assembled a hair and makeup team to meet the demand. It was an incredibly fun chapter in my professional journey.
